- Go to “Add folder” button found in the main menu for a new file to be encrypted or select items from the list provided
- Press the “Decrypt items” button
- If the file is encrypted with a specific algorithm, select the type of decryption algorithm you want to use
- Press the “Decrypt items” button
9. How do I change the encryption algorithm to be used?
To change the encryption algorithm that the ID Data Encrypt uses to encrypt/decrypt files, go to “options” button found on the main menu, and select the desired algorithm. You can also find more information about each of the algorithms provided by clicking on them in the list.
10. How can I keep track of files that have been encrypted/ decrypted?
ID Data Encrypt provides a logging list with all the actions that have been made using the program. To find out whether a file/ folder has been encrypted/ decrypted, go to the “log files” section found on the main menu, and view time stamps, actions, path, and algorithm that has been used for different files and folders.
11. Can I erase files and folders without the possibility of recovery?
Yes, you can. ID Data Encrypt securely wipes files by the use of safe-delete technology, and clears all tracks of where the file has been, making it impossible for someone else to recover your deleted files. Simply go to the “SafeDelete” section found on the main menu, and select files you wish to delete.
